My name is Iain McIntyre, I live in Edinburgh. I got my electric car, my EV, on the 7th of March, this year. I would recommend that someone who's got an electric vehicle has a smart meter because it is important you understand quite how much it's costing.
I'm a bit of a gadget fan so the opportunity to see on a display in the home what the car's charging, what the kettle's charging and so on, and the pounds and pence of that is fun!
It's been absolutely fantastic to have a smart meter. I'm loving having an electric vehicle and I feel like I'm part of a smart future.

Yes. Smart meters can help us to identify situations where we're using a lot of energy and might want to make changes to this. If you use the information shown on your smart meter in-home display to reduce your energy use, you could reduce your energy costs. Smart meters also mean accurate bills as they bring an end to estimates, so you can be confident that you're only paying for what you've actually used.
